Safari in Namibia

First Stop... Etosha National Park, a protected area in northern Namibia. Lions, elephants, black rhinos and giraffes gather at waterholes. Rough roads fringe the vast white-green salt flat of the Etosha Pan, a breeding ground for flamingos. Other birdlife includes eagles, hornbills, owls and ostriches. Camel thorn trees provide food and shelter for many of the park's animals. nulla pariatur.

Second Stop.. NamibRand Nature reserve bordered by the Naulkuft ParkĀ in the west and the impressive Nubib Mountain range in the East. The idea behind the NamibRand Nature reserve was to integrate a number of sheep farms into one game sanctuary. The NamibRand is free of fences and allows the wildlife to roam in their natural habitat, as they did before commercial farming. Covering an area of 200000 hectares close to Sossusvlei.

Due to its unique location the reserve offers a diversity of desert landscapes. Game species found in the reserve include gemsbok, mountain and plains zebra, springbok, red hartebeest, bat-eared fox, spotted hyena, Cape fox and African wildcats. The more rocky areas are inhabited by kudu, klipspringer, baboon and leopard.
